PintRunner is a free Android app for planning a route of pubs, splitting into teams and keeping score as you go. Any drink counts, alcohol-free ones included.

How a round works

  1. Build or pick a route Choose pubs on the map, then set a drink and an optional challenge for each stop.
  2. Invite your friends Share the join code. When the round starts, everyone is split into teams.
  3. Follow the route The app shows your team's current pub, the drink and the challenge. A team you're paired with logs your scores, and the next pub unlocks when your team arrives.
  4. Check the leaderboard See how every team and player is doing at any point in the night.

Installing on Android

PintRunner isn't on Google Play yet, so you install it from this page.

  1. Download the file Open this page on your phone and tap the download button.
  2. Allow the install Android will ask if your browser can install apps. Allow it for this one install.
  3. Open the file and install If Play Protect offers to scan the app, choose scan or install anyway. It says this for any app that isn't from the Play Store.
  4. Create an account Sign up with your email or with Google, then join a round with the code from your host.

Check your download

To be sure the file hasn't been altered, its SHA-256 checksum should match this:

On Linux or Mac, run sha256sum pintrunner.apk. On Windows, run certutil -hashfile pintrunner.apk SHA256.

Look after yourself

Pick the drink that suits you, and skip a round whenever you want. Don't drink and drive, and don't feel pressured to keep up with anyone. If you'd like advice or support, Drinkaware is a good place to start.
